Dancing with Solo – Mt. Greylock

Third Summit of Mt. Greylock. Solo!

I did a thing! April 19-20, 2024 I visited Mt. Greylock on the Appalachian Trail in Massachussetts for my third climb. It was a sentimental/story-changing walk in my dance with solo walking.

  • On my first climb in 2007, I started the climb with a partner and finished it solo because of a misunderstanding.
  • My second climb in 2015 was with that same hiking partner who was back to being my hiking partner.
  • This time, 2024, I am solo again as my hiking partner has chosen to stay out in California while I have relocated to Ohio.
What I know is that I have loved each climb, that walking the AT is my heart’s happy place, and that I am grateful to have the energy-shifting tools of Colin Tipping’s Radical Forgiveness to transform the emotions and stories of my dance with solo!
Although this year’s visit was a simple up-and-down overnight, it satisfied my desire to meet that mountain anew in this new chapter! I got to be totally solo all the way up, over night, and on the summit. I didn’t see anyone else until I started my descent.
My Inner Journey thrives in the walking!
I am on the verge of announcing virtual gatherings in May to share with you what I’ve learned in my 20 years/10,000+ miles of walking, especially how to hone my Inner Journey before, during, and after time out on a trail!
