Fabulous Foods for Backpacking: Vegetables Dehydrating Vegetables Vegies are hard to come by on the trail unless you bring your own! It’s easy to have vegies to Lighten T.E.N. up your pack and your trail life. Simply spread frozen vegetables of your choice on the dehydrator mesh. Dehydrate at 105 degrees F for about 6 hours. Pack them in plastic bags. If you’re preparing vegies far in advance, keep the dehydrated ones in the freezer, or seal them with your vacuum sealer. To rehydrate: Plan ahead! Soak vegies for several hours in a plastic bag, or even in your wide mouth water jar. The broth takes sweet and refreshing! Be sure to comment and ask your questions below!
