Fabulous Foods for Backpacking: Pineapple

Pineapple

Buy a whole case of fresh whole pineapples to have plenty for on-the-trail goodness. Pineapple is a sweet, chewy treat, plus it’s a great digestive aid.

It’s simple to prepare: Slice the pineapple into three sections. Slice the rind off each section. Core the sections and cut them in half. Slice the half circles into 1/4″ slices and dehydrate on the mesh screens for 8-12 hours on each side.

Enjoy!
